Date: August 29, 2008 I wanted to write and thank you for creating the Alpha-Stim®. This device has literally saved my life. I am 33 years old and I began having some anxiety after going through a few life hits. After a few months of trying self-help methods with few results I resorted to going to a psychiatrist to seek some medical help. When I began antidepressant treatments, things went from bad to complete hell. Then began the panic attacks, gut-wrenching pain, extreme fear approaching agoraphobia, pounding heart, shakes, crawling skin, vice-like tension in my neck, the list goes on and on. I'd lost 45lbs in 2 months. Doctors were prescribing this and that, taking this one up and the other one down. I physically shook for 8 months straight, had trouble walking, vomiting, my skin felt like it was on fire. I'd jump at the slightest touch or sound. I had massive confusion and fear and was basically incapacitated mentally and physically. The doctors rapidly dropped me from the ADs and I became suicidal. I was committed to a psych ward for 3 days. I have never been depressed in my life let alone suicidal. I'd had literally lost control of my body and my mind. After the hospital trip, I decided no medication was working and I began to rapidly lose hope. I came off the medications and was left many times worse for it. Depression set in again and I felt that my only options left would be ECT, VNS or death (when I only had some anxiety when this all began). When I started researching these electrical therapies I stumbled across CES and the Alpha Stim. I took the research you published to my doctor and he refused to prescribe it. I then begged my therapist to prescribe it and she did as she could see how completely desperate I was. The results have been nothing short of miraculous. My depression was completely GONE after my VERY FIRST treatment. I was astounded and elated. I could not believe it. I still had anxiety but continued treatment over the next few weeks. My mind cleared up and my fears went away. Its as if a light switch flipped in my brain and said "whats the problem?". I still have some physical symptoms but they really dont bother or scare me like they did before, and consequently they have been slowly diminishing over time. In just 6 weeks I've gone from completely incapacitated to about 90% back to normal. With renewed confidence and hope I'm certain of a complete 100% recovery. When exactly that will be I dont know, but I know it will happen, and all without side effects. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me my life back. |
