I've recently discovered Alpha-Stim®. It is similar to a tens unit, but different. From what I understand it balances the body’s energies. I have found that the TENS unbalances mine. There are two versions of Alpha-Stim® - one is for insomnia, depression and stress and the other unit is for all of that and also for pain relief. I have been using it for a couple of months now and it has really helped. There are ear clips which you put on your ears. What this basically does is to balance your brain to help with sleep, depression and stress. The first night I used it, I slept wonderfully! I usually am up numerous times a night and sleep very lightly. Now, I get up maybe twice at the most and go right back into a deep sleep. I have also found it helps with headaches. It is painful for a few minutes as the energy is being balanced, but then the headache goes away. For pain, there are probes which you use in X's over the part of your body that is in pain.
